The Oyo school abduction has continued to raise concerns across Nigeria as the kidnappers allegedly demand the release of detained terrorist commanders, a ₦1 billion ransom, two Hilux vehicles, and the implementation of Sharia-related laws.
The attackers stormed schools in the Esinele, Yawota, and Alawusa communities on May 15, abducting dozens of teachers and pupils in one of the most disturbing incidents recorded in the state this year.
Days after the attack, the terrorists released a video showing one of the abducted teachers, Michael Oladokun, a mathematics teacher at Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele.

The teacher was reportedly killed while in captivity, a development that Governor Seyi Makinde described as heartbreaking and deeply painful.
According to reports, the kidnappers are demanding the release of two detained terrorist commanders identified as Mahmud Usman, also known as Abu Bara’a or Abbas Mukhtar, and his deputy, Abubakar Abba, also known as Isah Adam, Mahmud Al-Nigeri, or Mallam Mamuda.
The two men are alleged leaders of Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimeena Fii Bilaadis Sudan (JAMBS), popularly known as Ansaru, a faction linked to Boko Haram.
They are currently facing terrorism-related charges before the Federal High Court in Abuja. In addition to seeking the release of the commanders, the terrorists are reportedly demanding a ₦1 billion ransom, two Hilux vehicles, and the implementation of Sharia-related law before they free the remaining victims.
