Ariana Grande Blasts White House Over Using Her Song in ICE Video

Grammy-winning pop star Ariana Grande blasts White House officials for using her hit track "Bye" in a controversial social media video promoting immigration enforcement operations.

The chart-topping vocalist wasted no time demanding that her creative works be entirely distanced from the administration's political agenda, publicly denouncing the promotional footage as absolute "barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense."

The online dispute erupted after the Trump administration’s digital media team shared a 14-second montage across its official social media channels, including TikTok.

The clip showcased U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents actively tracking, handcuffing, and detaining individuals suspected of being undocumented migrants before processing them at federal facilities.

Adding fuel to the political fire, the clip was layered with Grande’s upbeat single "Bye"—from her 2024 hit album Eternal Sunshine—and featured the text overlay: “Bye-bye… President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.”

Taking directly to the video's comment section to express her deep disapproval, the singer fired back at the administration's choice of background music. “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F*** ICE,” Grande wrote.

While her scathing public comment was swiftly hidden or removed from the main thread, representatives for the singer explicitly confirmed that the objection was completely genuine.

Following the massive wave of public attention surrounding the artist's outrage, the White House ultimately muted the video's background audio track, though the visual clip remains live on its social media profiles with a generic notification stating that the sound is no longer available.

The administration has firmly rejected the pop icon's criticism. Taking a sharp swipe at Grande's musical discography, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson issued a combative statement, saying, “We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”

By launching this public rebuke, Ariana Grande blasts White House strategies alongside a rapidly growing collective of global music sensations who are pushing back against the administration's unauthorized use of their music catalog.

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter recently demanded that the administration exclude her track "Juno" from digital promotional materials, labeling immigration raids as "evil and disgusting," while alternative pop icon SZA accused the administration of orchestrating calculated "rage-baiting" tactics against left-leaning artists to drum up free viral publicity.
