The MFM bans overnight vigils directive has taken effect across the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries as the church moves to protect members amid growing security concerns in Nigeria.

The decision was communicated in an official circular sent to Regional Overseers and branch pastors nationwide.

According to the directive dated June 5, 2026, all church programmes, services, meetings, and activities at every level of the ministry must now conclude by 8 p.m. until further notice.

The new policy also places an indefinite suspension on overnight vigils and late-night prayer gatherings. Church leadership explained that where prayer programmes are considered necessary, they should be converted into evening sessions that end on or before 8 p.m.

The measure is aimed at ensuring the safety of worshippers amid the country’s current security challenges.

The circular was signed by Temitope A. Olawale, Director of Administration for the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries International Headquarters and Nigeria.

He stated that the decision was made purely as a precautionary step and not for any other reason.

The policy comes at a time when concerns over insecurity, kidnappings, and attacks in parts of the country continue to generate public concern.

In the statement, church authorities emphasized that safeguarding the lives and well-being of members remains a top priority.

Leaders across the ministry have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the new guidelines.

As the directive takes effect nationwide, members are expected to adjust to the revised schedule while the church continues to monitor the security situation and provide updates when necessary.
