The father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya has publicly shared his side of the story following the viral controversy surrounding their alleged physical confrontation.
Speaking amid growing reactions online, he explained that he strongly supported Ilebaye during her journey on the reality television show, including her second appearance on Big Brother Naija when she frequently faced eviction threats.
According to him, he and his friends contributed financially and emotionally to ensure she stayed in the competition. He claimed that after winning the reality show, Ilebaye became distant from him and allegedly stopped maintaining close communication with the family.
He stated that he repeatedly tried to reconnect with her and wanted both of them to visit people who supported her rise to fame as a way of showing appreciation.
Ilebaye’s father also expressed concerns about what he described as her current lifestyle, alleging that she has been living recklessly and making decisions he strongly disapproves of.
He criticised her alleged cosmetic procedures, including fillers and a BBL, saying he felt she was too young for such enhancements. The controversy intensified after videos and reports surfaced online alleging that he physically assaulted the reality TV star during her birthday homecoming celebration.

Reacting to the incident, he admitted that there was a confrontation between them but claimed he acted out of provocation after repeated disrespect from his daughter.
According to him, there had been previous moments where Ilebaye allegedly became aggressive towards him during disagreements. He maintained that despite their issues, she remained his favourite child and someone he deeply cared about.
He further revealed that he had been battling high blood pressure and once reached out to her for temporary financial support after a medical trip to Dubai.
However, he alleged that she told him she did not have money, only for him to later see videos online showing her spraying cash at a celebrity wedding event.
The father also touched on long-standing family tensions involving Ilebaye’s mother, claiming there had been repeated separations and disputes within the household over the years.
He said the ongoing family issues eventually contributed to the breakdown of relationships within the home. Despite the controversy, he appealed to Nigerians to forgive both himself and Ilebaye, adding that the family hopes to resolve their issues privately.
He also confirmed that the police had invited him again following the incident, although he claimed efforts were being made toward settlement.
