Alex Otti Rebuilds Abia Infrastructure and Slashes State Debt by 60 Percent

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has announced a massive development milestone, revealing that his administration has successfully constructed 414 roads across the state over the last three years. 

Speaking during his monthly media interactive session broadcasted from Umuahia, the governor shared detailed scorecards highlighting major advancements in infrastructural development, fiscal discipline, and human capital growth. 

The completed road networks span an impressive 864.12 kilometers, significantly enhancing rural-urban connectivity and breathing new economic life into the state. 

Beyond the visible infrastructure transformation, Alex Otti disclosed that his administration achieved a monumental 60 percent reduction in the state's total debt profile. 

By implementing strict transparency measures and blocking financial leakages, the government slashed inherited liabilities from approximately 191 billion Naira down to less than 50 billion Naira.

These rigorous fiscal reforms did not go unnoticed; independent sub-national performance metrics rapidly pushed Abia State from a low 17th position up to the 4th spot nationally, reinforcing investor confidence in the region's economic management. 

The governor's update covered various public sectors, including the introduction of a modern transit network supported by upcoming electric buses and the construction of central terminals equipped with solar-powered charging infrastructure. 

Significant achievements were also highlighted in land administration, where over 4,700 Certificates of Occupancy were processed alongside a fully digitized mapping partnership with UN-Habitat. 

In social services, Alex Otti detailed extensive healthcare interventions, featuring the retrofitting of 277 primary health centers and the active recruitment of 821 medical practitioners to ensure every local government area benefits from improved welfare structures.
