Jerry Eze Joins Heirs Life Assurance Board as Director

Heirs Life Assurance has appointed Pastor Jerry Eze, the Founder and Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International Ministry, as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board, effective August 10, 2026. 

The Jerry Eze Heirs Life Assurance board appointment was announced through an official statement released by the company’s management on Monday, with Chairman Tony Elumelu describing the move as a strategic step toward deepening public trust in insurance and expanding financial protection to millions of Nigerians who remain outside the formal insurance ecosystem. 

Nigeria’s insurance penetration currently sits below one percent despite the country being Africa’s largest economy — one of the lowest rates globally — and the appointment reflects a deliberate effort by Heirs Life to bridge that gap through credible community-facing leadership.

Pastor Jerry Eze brings a profile that extends well beyond pastoral ministry. He is the convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration, one of the world’s largest digital prayer platforms, which reaches millions of people daily across multiple continents. 

Through the Jerry Eze Foundation, he has provided housing support and grants to vulnerable and underserved communities, and in 2026 announced one billion naira in grants targeted at young entrepreneurs across agriculture, technology, and manufacturing. Before entering full-time ministry, Eze built a professional background in development communications, serving as a Communications Specialist on a World Bank HIV/AIDS programme and with the United Nations Population Fund, and holds degrees from Abia State University and Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
