The tragic invasion by heavily armed gunmen has thrown the local community into mourning, particularly after it was revealed that an Islamic Studies teacher lost his life during the raid.
In the wake of the crisis, Seyi Makinde revealed that security forces have already made significant breakthroughs, arresting six suspects within the immediate locality alongside three other persons of interest.
Preliminary intelligence reports indicate that some of the individuals apprehended within the community may have acted as informants, providing the assailants with vital details to execute the raid.

The governor linked the sudden spike in local vulnerability to heavy military pressure in the North-West, which is forcing displaced bandits and terrorist groups to migrate southward into new territories.
Recognizing the complex nature of the threat, Seyi Makinde emphasized that the Oyo State government will not rely solely on a kinetic or military approach to resolve the crisis.
Ongoing consultations are being held with regional elders, community leaders, and religious officials, including the leadership of the Baptist Convention, which owns one of the targeted schools.
The administration has promised to establish daily press briefings to keep the public informed of rescue operations, assuring grieving families that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring the safe return of the children and their teachers.
