Dowen College parents demand change of school management, hostel teachers

The Parents' Forum at Dowen College in Lagos State's Lekki district has urged that the school's management and hostel teachers be replaced.

Days after the death of a student at Dowen College, the parents released a statement titled, 'Sylvester Oromoni's Death: Dowen College Parents Mourn.' 

The parents also announced that a candlelight vigil would be held in memory of the dead pupil on December 8, 2021. 

Three students are currently being held in police custody for alleged assault, while the other two are on the loose. 

The parents requested the school administration and all stakeholders (students and parents were named explicitly or indirectly) to "completely cooperate with the authority in the ongoing investigation" in the statement.
