Davido Target of Osun Convoy Attack, Police Confirm

The Osun State Police Command has officially confirmed that international Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, was the primary Davido target of Osun convoy attack violence following a security confrontation outside the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo.

The Journal Nigeria, police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi explained that preliminary investigations identified members of the Eiye confraternity as responsible for the confrontation. 

Police confirmed the Davido target of Osun convoy attack details after an ex-convict, Adebayo Taoreed (known as "Small Rugged"), allegedly attempted to force his way toward the singer before being repelled by executive security personnel. 

The initial resistance attracted additional gang members, who temporarily blocked the palace exit and engaged in sporadic shooting.

In reports detailed by Punch Newspapers and Vanguard News, state security escorts successfully repelled the assailants during an exchange of gunfire. 

However, police confirmed that as the gang fled the scene, a 60-year-old resident identified as Tajudeen Yusuf was shot in the nearby Ita Olokan area. He was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, where medical personnel pronounced him dead.

As law enforcement agencies launch a full-scale investigation into the Davido target of Osun convoy attack incident, police patrol teams have been deployed across Osogbo to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
