Speaking in a video shared on Instagram, Judy Austin dismissed claims that Yul Edochie was responsible for the breakdown of her former marriage.
According to her, she first met the actor on a movie set in 2016, several years after her marriage had ended.
The actress stated that members of the movie production team, including the executive producer, are still alive and can confirm the timeline of events regarding when she first met Yul Edochie.
Addressing the controversy further, Judy Austin accused her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, of making conflicting and misleading statements about their past relationship.
She questioned several allegations made against her, insisting that many of the claims lacked consistency.
Judy Austin also denied accusations that she prevented her former husband from having access to their children.
According to her, he made little effort to remain actively involved in their lives over the years. She further revealed that Yul Edochie has played a supportive role in the lives of her children, helping with their welfare, education, and upbringing.
She described the actor as a father figure who has consistently shown care and responsibility toward them.
The actress also warned bloggers and content creators against spreading unverified information about her relationship with Yul Edochie.
She stated that individuals publishing false claims would be held accountable through legal means.
Reiterating her position, Judy Austin said, “I met him three years after my marriage ended and that is not a crime.” She concluded by stating that the issues being raised against her would ultimately be addressed in court while urging critics to stop attacking Yul Edochie over the controversy.
