The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has unveiled a major initiative as part of efforts to empower young talents, with Alex Otti scholarships Abia graduates becoming a key highlight.
The announcement was made during a stakeholders’ meeting at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu.
Governor Otti revealed that all First Class graduates from the last three convocation sets will receive automatic scholarships.
The Alex Otti scholarships Abia graduates initiative will cover postgraduate studies, including Master’s and PhD programmes, in any Nigerian university.
This move is aimed at encouraging academic excellence and supporting outstanding students in advancing their education.
In addition to scholarships, the governor directed the Head of Service to identify gaps within the state civil service.
A total of 100 exceptional graduates from the three convocation sets will be recruited to fill these roles.

Governor Otti also approved ₦200 million to support up to 100 graduates with innovative business ideas.
