Naira Marley and Sam Larry Granted Remand Warrant in Mohbad's Death Investigation

The Lagos State Police Command has been granted a remand warrant to detain singer Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and music promoter Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, beyond the constitutional 48-hour limit. 

This extension is part of an ongoing investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, the two were not arraigned but taken to court to secure a remand warrant to avoid accusations of over-detention. The exact duration of detention allowed by the warrant is yet to be confirmed.

Mohbad's death occurred on September 12, 2023, in Lagos, leading to allegations that Naira Marley and Sam Larry had a hand in his demise. Both denied these allegations. 

The police have also declared singer Owodunni Ibrahim, known as Prime Boy and a friend of the deceased, as wanted for failing to honor police invitations related to Mohbad's death.
