The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that the injections administered by an auxiliary nurse, Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, to the late Afrobeats singer Mohbad likely triggered a chain of reactions leading to his death.
Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, sparking controversy. Ogedengbe was contacted by Mohbad's friend, Ayobami Sadiq aka Spending, to treat the singer at his Lekki home.
Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa stated that Ogedengbe administered three different injections, including tetanus toxoid, paracetamol (intravenous), and Cetrazone injection, which may have caused adverse reactions, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions, leading to Mohbad's death.
Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, admitted to administering the injections, although she was not qualified to do so in a non-clinical environment. Three other suspects, including Primeboy, Sam Larry, and Naira Marley, were named in connection with the case.
