Salary Boost: Federal Tertiary Institutions Staff to Receive 35% and 23% Pay Increase

The administration of President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for a 35 percent and 23 percent salary increase for staff in Federal Tertiary Institutions. 

Additionally, the Federal Government has committed to paying arrears dating back to January 1, 2023. This decision, conveyed in a memo dated September 21, 2023, affects both academic and non-academic staff in federal Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. 

The move follows negotiations and discussions between the Federal Ministry of Education and Tertiary Institutions-based Unions, leading to this salary adjustment.
