This decision follows the controversial death of Mohbad, a young artist signed under the Marlian Records Label. Several radio stations had previously imposed a "Not to Be Broadcast" (NTTB) ban on Marlian music.
MTV's ban was announced by TV host Ehizojie Okoeguale, known as DadaBoy Ehiz, an employee of the channel.
