Nnamdi Kanu was allegedly mistreated, although the Department of State Services has disputed this.
Accoeding to them the claims, were in violation of the standard of Operation Procedure for the implementation of a suspect's rights.
At a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, the Department of State Services' public relations officer, Dr Peter Afunanya, revealed this.
"These people are vulnerable to kidnappings, hijackings, killings, armed robberies, and political manipulations," he stated.
"The service has seen that some people who are desperately pursuing power utilize false information and narratives to not only mislead citizens but also to overheat the polity," Afunanya added.
