Cristiano Ronaldo’s never gonna be a problem for any club or any manager incoming coach Ralf Rangnick said
Michael Carrick has opted to step down as First Team Coach and depart Manchester United at the end of his caretaker Managership.
"Michael leaves with the deepest thanks and best wishes of everyone at Manchester United following 15 years of tremendous service to the club as a player and as a coach," said John Murtough, Football Director, in a statement on the club's website. While we are sad to see him go, we appreciate and understand Michael's decision.
"He will be remembered as one of Manchester United's finest midfielders and, more recently, as a superb coach who has worked relentlessly under two managers to help develop the strong squad that Ralf will now lead."
"We are grateful for Michael's steady leadership during this moment of management transition, and while he is now stepping away from day-to-day engagement, he will always be welcomed back as a club great."
"My tenure at this magnificent club will always rank among the best years of my career," Carrick stated. I could never have envisaged winning so many trophies when I initially signed over 15 years ago, and I will never forget the amazing memories I made as a player and as a part of the coaching staff.
"I've concluded that the time has come for me to quit the club. I want to wish Ralf Rangnick, the staff, the players, and the fans the best of luck in the future."
"However, after much thinking and discussion, I have decided that the time has come for me to quit the club." I'd like to express my gratitude to all of the players, with a special mention going to the backroom crew; working long hours with such a terrific group of people has been a true pleasure, and I've established some lifelong connections."
"I am and will always be a Manchester United fan, and I will attend as many games as I can." I'd want to wish Ralf, the staff, the players, and the supporters all the best in the future, and I'm looking forward to being a spectator in the stands and cheering for the guys."
Ralf Rangnick has already been confirmed as United's next manager, but due to work visa rules, he is not anticipated to take over until at least Friday.
