'The Five' react to Biden appearing to fall asleep at UN climate change conference (video)

President Joe Biden appeared to fall asleep at a United Nations conference in Glasgow, Scotland, on Monday, according to "The Five." 

The panel noted that the president's apparent slumber lasted longer than a few seconds.

On the latest Biden gaffe, Harold Ford Jr. joked, "The president might have been exercising his right to prayer." 

During his trip to Europe, Biden made a speech emphasizing the importance of combating climate change. "This is a challenge that we will face for the rest of our lives."

The existential threat, a threat to humanity's very existence. And the cost of inaction rises with each day we wait. So let this be the time when we answer the call of history." 

Jesse Watters said, "He fell asleep during this climate thing – [and] this is what's going to kill us all in a matter of years." 

"It does appear odd that the president is dozing off at a climate change conference in Europe while Americans struggle with high gas prices." 

"It's turned off." Sandra Smith expressed herself as follows: "And my entire purpose in being there was to say, 'Wake up, this is an emergency.'"

Biden's travel itinerary for the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2021, according to Watters, was not planned in the most environmentally friendly way.

"The president, in an attempt to save the planet, [ride] around Rome in an 85-vehicle... gas-guzzling motorcade before this big summit," Watters sarcastically observed. 

Watters went on to say that Biden sent a third of his cabinet and "an army of staffers" to the global warming conference "while claiming the situation on planet Earth is so dire." 

While Biden was attempting to impress the world with a forceful speech on climate change, Watters claimed that Americans were less impressed with the president.

Watters said, "He's not impressing anyone here at home." According to a poll released Monday, half of Democrats do not want Biden to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2024. 

Climate change, the panel agreed, was not as tangible an issue as the economic hardships that the average American is facing under Biden. 

According to a Wednesday Fox News poll, Biden's economic performance received 39 percent approval. Inflation, rising gas prices, and shortages were all mentioned as major concerns. 

"These are very real issues for the American people, which does not bode well for the president in the polls. And this bodes well for Republicans presenting a plan for next year "Smith stated his opinion.
