Akhayera Collins and Christian John have been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly manufacturing fake drinks in the state.
The suspects were arrested on October 22, this year at their hideout in Rumuokoro, Obio/Akpor, by an intelligence unit of the command based on credible information, according to a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Nnamdi Omoni, and made available to journalists yesterday.
The suspects have confessed to the crime, according to Omoni, and will be charged in court once the investigation is completed.
"On October 22, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., operatives of Puff Adder, led by Commander SP. Noble Uwoh, stormed a hideout on Eligbolo Road, Rumuokoro, where they busted a syndicate that engages in the manufacture of fake drinks that are believed to be dangerous to public health.
"Two suspects were apprehended during the operation: Akhayera Collins (male) 41 years old and Christian John (male), while others fled.
"Assorted wines, spirits, and several alcoholic beverages, as well as empty bottles waiting to be filled with the poisonous liquid/substances, were recovered."
"They've made useful confessions and will be charged in court once the investigations are finished."
