Be Alive To Your Duties; Chikamnayo charges Information Officers

The Abia State Commissioner for Information, Barr. Eze Chikamnayo, has charged information officers in the State to be alive to their duties and constantly place at the public domain, the various developmental activities of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration.

Chikamnayo made the charge today at a maiden meeting held at Okpara Auditorium Umuahia, with all the information officers of his Ministry assigned to Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Government Councils of the State.

He argued that information officers must join the changing news environment in embracing both conventional and new media in their reportage and therefore will subject information officers to further training.

According to the information boss, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration has done well, it is our duty to write and provide regular details to the public on these milestones. 

The ministry being an official mouthpiece of government entails that workers must come to work, be productive and committed to their duties so that the populace will be abreast of government policies and programs.

Earlier, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and strategy, in her opening remarks, said that information officers should at all times conduct themselves and obey the ethics of the profession. It is time to change our attitude to work and show commitment.
