Along the ABSU-Isuikwuato Road, gunmen suspected of being herdsmen robbed and kidnapped two teachers at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, and others.
According to Punch, the incident occurred at 6 p.m. on Thursday, according to the chairperson of ABSU's Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), V. U. Nkemdirim.
Rev. Prof. S.O Eze of the Department of Industrial Chemistry, a Methodist priest, and Don Chris Afulike of the Department of Mass Communication were the lecturers who were impacted, according to him.
They were supposed to be in separate vehicles. The two lecturers, according to Nkemdirim, came across Fulani herders who were looting motorists.
"The herdsmen carried the two lecturers and a few others away after the robbery. "As of now, they haven't been spotted."
Dr. Chris Afulike's Camry, on the other hand, has been seen with his phone inside," the professor stated.
The occurrence was corroborated by the instructors' families, according to Nkemdirim, and the University management was involved in the investigation.
He further stated that the ASUU national body, as well as the appropriate security authorities, had been notified.
