Likita Abubakar, a 35-year-old guns smuggler, has been caught in Nasarawa State.
Abubakar was apprehended with 53 magazines, over 260 rounds of live ammunition, one motorcycle, and N38,500 in his possession.
At Alushi intersection in Akwanga, he was detained by a joint team of the Police and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
His colleagues are apparently on their way to Jos on motorcycles, according to Likita.
At the Akwanga Police Divisional Headquarters, the suspect is being held.
According to ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Command Public Relations Officer, the arrest was made as a result of intelligence.
Adesina Soyemi, the Commissioner of Police, has directed that the case be sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, in Lafia for a full investigation.
