Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has sparked fresh reactions online after rejecting Peller’s wedding invitation, insisting that a phone call was not the appropriate way to invite someone of his status.

The incident has quickly become a trending topic across social media, with fans debating whether the singer’s expectations were justified.

During a private conversation, TikTok personality Peller personally appealed to the singer to attend the ceremony, saying, “Omolalomi, we’re specially inviting you to our wedding. We need someone like you in our wedding because you’re a star.”

Portable, however, turned down the invitation, arguing that Peller should have visited his residence alongside his fiancée to deliver the Aso-Ebi in person. According to the singer, such a gesture would have shown the respect expected from someone he considers a younger brother.

Responding to the invitation, Portable said Peller had forgotten those who supported him before he became popular. He claimed he was among the people who helped publicize the TikTok star in his early days.

“You’re a spoilt child. Is it not you, Habeeb, that I built? I was among the people that posted you so people could know you. Normally, you and your wife are supposed to bring the cloth to my house and specially greet me as the father-in-law. I’m your elder brother.”

The singer also stated that attending the wedding would mean turning down a paid performance already scheduled for August 1. He maintained that as a professional musician, appearances at events should come with financial compensation.

Portable added that Peller’s wedding appeared more like a political gathering than a traditional wedding, claiming it would attract different categories of guests because the Aso-Ebi was reportedly being sold to anyone interested.
