Ahead of the BBNaija Season 11 premiere, organisers have revealed the extensive planning, engineering and local expertise that went into constructing the iconic reality television house for the new season.

According to the organisers, preparations for the BBNaija Season 11 house began in November 2025, almost nine months before the show’s premiere on July 26, 2026.

The project started with concept development and design before moving into procurement, sourcing and detailed planning ahead of construction.

The organisers explained that the physical transformation of the house took just two months, converting an empty structure into a fully equipped television production facility capable of broadcasting every moment of the reality show.

The BBNaija Season 11 house is equipped with 52 robotic pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades, and 19 speakers, creating a comprehensive surveillance and production system that captures every conversation and interaction among the housemates around the clock.

Situated beside the live television studio, the house is designed to accommodate more than 20 contestants while ensuring seamless camera coverage across all living spaces throughout the competition.

Organisers also disclosed that the BBNaija house is redesigned every season to improve storytelling and enhance viewers’ experience.

One of the most significant changes was introduced in 2024, when the staircase was relocated to the centre of the living room and the bedrooms were moved upstairs, improving contestant movement and providing better camera sightlines.

According to the production team, every structural adjustment is carefully planned to support television production, with close attention paid to camera positioning, visibility and how housemates naturally interact within the space.

Beyond entertainment, the construction of the BBNaija Season 11 house continues to create employment opportunities for Nigerians.

The organisers said the entire project, including civil engineering, electrical installations, interior decoration and finishing, was completed using Nigerian professionals and locally sourced expertise.

The production supports more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs each season, providing work for carpenters, electricians, decorators, civil engineers, painters and other skilled artisans.

Once construction is completed, hundreds of additional personnel—including production crews, camera operators, ninjas, master control room teams, caterers, housekeeping staff and technical support workers—take over to ensure the reality show runs smoothly from the premiere until the finale.

BBNaija Season 11 premieres tonight with the launch show airing from 7:00 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family.

Fans can also watch the 24-hour live broadcast on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, as well as through DStv Stream and GOtv Stream, as viewers across Africa prepare for another exciting season of the continent’s biggest reality television show.
