Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, June 22, 2026, the doting wife recounted how her husband tried to play the "big boy" by planning a sleepover with his friends ahead of a wedding, only to sneak back home in the middle of the night because of hunger.
According to the lady, her husband had informed her earlier in the day that he wouldn't be coming home, as he was slated to spend the night hanging out and sleeping over with his group of friends before the main wedding event.
Accepting the plan, the woman fed their children, had her own dinner, and went to bed early. However, her sleep was interrupted at exactly 10:30 p.m. when her phone rang. It was her husband, sheepishly announcing that he was standing right outside the gate.
The moment she opened the door for him, he hilariously announced himself in the third person, saying, "Your husband is hungry."
Amused by his sudden return, the wife playfully teased him, stating he was going to starve since she hadn't prepared any meals with him in mind. The husband immediately went into full begging mode, desperate for a warm meal after his long escape.
The joke, however, was on him. When the hungry husband walked over to check the dining table, he was shocked to find a freshly dished, covered plate of food waiting specifically for him.
Realizing he had been thoroughly outsmarted by his wife’s deep understanding of his personality, he burst out laughing, saying, "You don see me finish, you this girl" (You know me inside out).
"Apparently I knew he would return home, person wey I sabi say he no go fit sleep outside. I no go know my husband?" the wife wrote, concluding her viral post. The lighthearted post has since gone viral, garnering thousands of likes and warm reactions from netizens.
Many users praised the woman’s emotional intelligence and deep marital connection, pointing out that knowing a partner's unspoken needs and attachment to home comforts is the ultimate sign of a beautiful, loving marriage.
