Speaking in a video that has generated reactions online, the man said many law-abiding Fulani herders are unfairly stereotyped and blamed for crimes committed by a small number of criminal elements.
According to him, innocent Fulani people are also victims of bandit attacks, cattle rustling, kidnapping, and other forms of violence that continue to affect rural communities.
He explained that while many Nigerians associate insecurity with Fulani groups, the reality is that ordinary herders living in remote areas often live in fear of armed criminals who steal livestock, destroy property, and abduct people for ransom.
The man said one of his greatest fears while tending cattle is encountering bandits operating in the bush.
He argued that criminality should not be linked to any tribe, religion, or ethnic group, stressing that crime exists in every community.
"Crime has no religion, no tribe and no language," he said while urging Nigerians to avoid generalising an entire ethnic group because of the actions of a few individuals.
The herder claimed that many Fulani families have lost cattle and loved ones to criminal gangs but receive little public attention when such incidents occur.
According to him, many victims within the Fulani community feel their experiences are often overlooked because there are few people willing to publicly speak about their challenges.
He further maintained that the overwhelming majority of Fulani people are peaceful and law-abiding citizens who simply focus on their livelihoods and family responsibilities.
The man also questioned the source of weapons used by criminal groups, suggesting that those responsible for supplying arms to bandits should be identified and brought to justice.
In addition, he lamented the difficulties many Fulani people face while travelling, alleging that some are subjected to suspicion and harassment solely because of their ethnic identity.
Calling for unity and understanding among Nigerians, he urged citizens to work together in identifying and isolating criminals rather than blaming entire communities for security challenges.
