Eyiyemi Afolayan Says She Prefers a Poor Man but Refuses to Build Wealth With Any Man

Nigerian actress Eyiyemi Afolayan has shared her thoughts on marriage, financial stability, and relationships, generating mixed reactions across social media. 

Speaking during an interview with BBC Yoruba, Eyiyemi stated that she would prefer marrying a financially modest man over a wealthy one. 

According to her, wealth can sometimes influence certain men to become disrespectful or engage in infidelity. 

The actress explained that she would not want to find herself in a situation where she becomes a second or third wife, adding that some wealthy men may feel more confident pursuing multiple relationships because of their financial status. 

While discussing her ideal partner, Eyiyemi stressed that she is not interested in marrying a man who depends entirely on her for survival. 

She noted that any man she chooses to marry must be hardworking, responsible, and have a legitimate source of income. 

However, one of her strongest remarks came when she declared that she could never build wealth with a man from the beginning. 

According to the actress, she is not willing to struggle alongside a partner in the hope of becoming successful together. 

Eyiyemi also expressed skepticism about men’s loyalty, claiming that many men fail to appreciate the sacrifices made for them in relationships.
