The INEC declaration followed the completion of vote collation across the state's 16 local government areas, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate recorded a commanding victory.
According to the final results announced in Ado-Ekiti, Oyebanji secured a total of 319,224 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 40,543 votes. The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oluwadare Bejide, finished third with 12,872 votes.
Notably, the APC candidate won in all 16 local government areas of the state, underlining the party's widespread support across both urban and rural communities.
INEC disclosed that a total of 384,940 voters were accredited out of the 988,251 registered voters in the state.
The commission also revealed that 6,332 votes were rejected from the 382,109 votes cast during the election.
Other parties recorded the following results:
- ADC – 12,872 - ADP – 1,269 - A – 564 - AA – 126 - AAC – 195 - APM – 59 - APP – 61 - LP – 276 - NNPP – 35 - PRP – 163 - SDP – 179 - YPP – 98 - ZLP – 113
The victory marks a significant political milestone for Biodun Oyebanji, who now secures another four-year term in office with a renewed mandate from the people of Ekiti State.
