The family of Mr Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, one of the teachers abducted from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has called on President Bola Tinubu to personally intervene following his tragic death.
The appeal comes after the teacher was reportedly kidnapped, murdered, and beheaded by suspected terrorists who attacked the school community on May 15, 2026. Through their lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the family submitted a petition to President Tinubu, urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts to recover the late teacher’s remains and rescue other victims still being held captive.
According to the petition, Olugbade was described as a peaceful and dedicated teacher whose life was brutally cut short under heartbreaking circumstances. The lawyer stated that the victim’s wife and two sons have been left traumatised following the horrific incident.
The family also expressed concern that several other people abducted alongside the late teacher remain in captivity under dangerous and life-threatening conditions.
Adeyanju appealed to President Tinubu not only to direct security agencies to act swiftly but also to personally visit the bereaved family as a sign of compassion and leadership.
According to him, such a visit would reassure affected families that the government remains committed to protecting citizens and rescuing those still in captivity. The petition further stressed that despite reports confirming Olugbade’s death, his body has yet to be recovered for burial.
The lawyer therefore urged security and intelligence agencies to intensify operations aimed at locating his remains and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The tragic incident has once again renewed concerns over worsening insecurity, kidnappings, and attacks on schools and rural communities across Nigeria.
Many Nigerians have continued to demand stronger security measures and quicker government responses to violent attacks affecting communities nationwide.
