The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has released official obituary details ahead of his final burial rites. The popular actor reportedly passed away on May 11, 2026, after battling kidney cancer.
In a statement shared by the family, they appealed to friends, fans, and the general public to continue keeping Alexx Ekubo, his wife, and the entire family in their prayers during the difficult period.
According to the obituary announcement, a Service of Songs will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos. The event is scheduled to hold between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with guests expected to wear white.

The wake keep will later hold on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family residence located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The funeral service for the late actor is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
Following the church service, Alexx Ekubo will be laid to rest at the family compound in Ujari Village, Arochukwu. The family also confirmed that a reception ceremony will immediately follow the interment at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village.
Guests attending the funeral events have also been requested to wear white as part of the dress code.
Alexx Ekubo was widely known for his charming personality, acting talent, and memorable performances in numerous Nigerian movies throughout his career.
