Governor Otti Responds Sharply to Economic Impact Question
The tension arose when reporter Chika Nwabueze questioned Governor Otti on how his policies have translated into tangible improvements for the everyday lives of Abians, beyond the visible infrastructure such as roads.
Nwabueze asked the governor for verifiable data showing the impact of his policies on the local economy, including indicators such as employment rates, economic growth, and cost of living.
In response, Governor Otti defended his administration's achievements, highlighting initiatives like reduced travel times, free school fees, electric buses, and newly built health centers. However, he criticized the question, calling it “irresponsible” and challenged the journalist to witness the changes firsthand in the state.
