“I Am Begging Nigerians to Help Me” — Calvin Bassey’s Father, Kingsley Ikenna, Cries Out Over Access to His Children

Kingsley Ikenna, father of Nigerian international and Fulham defender Calvin Bassey, has broken down emotionally as he appealed to Nigerians to help plead on his behalf so he can reconnect with his children.

In a heartfelt statement that has since stirred reactions online, Ikenna admitted his imperfections and asked for forgiveness from his wife, stressing that he is only human.

“Wherever I may have wronged my wife, I sincerely ask her to forgive me. I am human and not perfect,” he said.

The distraught father revealed that being denied access to his children has caused him deep emotional pain, which he claims he has endured silently for a long time.

According to him, the separation from his children has been particularly difficult because they are his flesh and blood, adding that the situation has taken a heavy toll on his mental and emotional well-being.

“All I want is access to my children. Not being able to see them has been very painful for me. I have been suffering quietly and carrying this pain alone,” he lamented.

Ikenna further appealed directly to his wife and children, asking them to find it in their hearts to forgive him so that healing and reconciliation can take place.

He also called on Nigerians to help mediate and speak on his behalf, expressing hope that public intervention could help restore peace and reunite his family.

“I am appealing to my wife and my children to please find it in their hearts to forgive me. I am asking Nigerians to help plead on my behalf so I can reunite with my children,” he added.

The emotional plea has sparked widespread sympathy and debate on social media, with many Nigerians urging reconciliation and prioritisation of family unity, especially considering the public profile of his son, Calvin Bassey.

As of the time of filing this report, no response has been made by the other parties involved.
