Nigerian billionaire and Chairman of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, has pledged a $500,000 cash reward to Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their impressive 2–0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The generous pledge is aimed at motivating the national team ahead of their crucial semi-final showdown, as Nigeria continues its quest for continental glory.

Rabiu, whose net worth is estimated at nearly $7 billion, made the announcement on Saturday through a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He congratulated the players for their spirited performance against Algeria and praised them for lifting the morale of Nigerians worldwide.
