BUA Group Chairman Reiterates Commitment to Affordable Cement Price Despite Challenges
Abdul-Samad Rabiu, Chairman of the BUA Group, reaffirmed the company's pledge to sustain the sale of cement at the rate of N3,500 per bag starting from January 2024. Following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Rabiu highlighted the commitment to ensuring accessibility and affordability of the product despite logistical challenges.
Explaining the pricing structure, Rabiu clarified that the stated cost would be the ex-factory price plus VAT, with varying delivery charges based on distances and regions. He elaborated on the challenges of delivering cement across distant regions like Lagos from Sokoto or to other areas like Adamawa and Maiduguri, where distance impacts pricing adjustments.
Rabiu emphasized the forthcoming inauguration of BUA Group's new cement plant in Sokoto by January 2024, anticipating that this development would significantly contribute to expanding the market's reach across the nation.
