JUST IN: Kaduna police declare manhunt for killer of corps member

The Kaduna State Police Command has officially confirmed the tragic murder of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Grace Chalya Silas, by unidentified assailants. In response to this horrific incident, the state Police Commissioner, CP Musa Yusuf Garba, has initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators. The news of Chalya Silas's untimely demise has deeply affected her friends and fellow students at the University of Jos, who expressed their grief on social media.

The Kaduna Police Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, described the incident as tragic. He revealed that the assailants, suspected to be phone snatchers, targeted Chalya Silas during her jog and fatally attacked her. The swift response of the police led to the discovery of the victim in critical condition, but she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

CP Musa Yusuf Garba has ordered the Barnawa Divisional Police Officer and other officers to launch a thorough investigation and bring the culprits to justice.
