The Nigerian Federal Government has given approval for the reopening of the Seme land border to allow the importation of vehicles.
This decision came in response to complaints from freight forwarders operating at the Seme border.
The Director of Road Transport in the Ministry of Transportation, Ibrahim Musa, made this announcement during a meeting between Nigerian and Benin Republic officials organized by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The former Minister of State for Transportation had previously received pleas from freight forwarders to reactivate the border for the free movement of goods and services, which led to the preparation and submission of a memo to the government.
