Volodymyr Zelensky predicted a "third World War", if talks with Vladimir Putin fail to achieve peace, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
"If these initiatives fail," Zelensky told CNN via video link yesterday, "that would imply... a third World War."
"Unfortunately, our dignity will not protect lives." So, I believe we should use every format...to approach the potential of speaking with Putin," Zelensky told CNN presenter Fareed Zakaria.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden has warned Chinese leader Xi Jinping of "consequences" if he backs Russia.
There were now "considerable dilemmas" for countries who were yet to speak out against Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said, adding: "I think that in Beijing you are starting to see some second thoughts."
