Abba Kyari, a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, was designated wanted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday for alleged ties to an international drug gang.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA's Spokesperson, made the announcement during a brief press conference held at the organization's headquarters.
The decision was made in the wake of the Hushpuppi debacle.
Kyari was the officer-in-charge of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team until he was suspended by the commission.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation had already indicted him in the case of fraud involving Instagram celebrity Ramon Abbas, alias Hushpuppi, according to a report.
