Court Revokes Jaruma's Bail, Orders Re-arrest

Hauwa Mohammed nicknamed Jaruma, a prominent Kayanmata trader, has had his bail overturned by an Abuja Upper Area Court.

Following her and her lawyers' absence in court, Justice Ismaila Abdullahi ordered Jaruma's re-arrest and determined that she should be held in the Suleja Correctional Centre. The case was delayed by Abdullahi until March 17, 2022.

Nwoko had accused Jaruma of spreading lies about him and his wife on her Instagram page. Abdullahi, while ruling on her bail application, stated that the defendant's remand should not be viewed as a punishment. 

He did, however, issue a warning to all parties involved in the case to avoid any actions that could be seen as adverse to the case.
