Operatives who raided the residence of Supreme Court judge, Justice Mary Odili, have been arrested, according to Inspector-General of Police (IG) Alkali Usman.

He said this in an interview at the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone Two's two-day capacity building workshop for security operatives in Lagos and Ogun, which was held at Victoria Island in Lagos.

On Friday night, armed security operatives broke into Justice Odili's home for reasons that have yet to be determined.

Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) all denied any involvement in the invasion, which drew widespread condemnation.

Following public outcry, the IG announced on Monday that an investigation into the incident had begun and that the perpetrators would be apprehended and prosecuted.

"I have taken my time not to speak quickly on this issue to ensure that when I speak, I am able to give Nigerians information on what transpired or what has been done," Usman said, providing updates on the case.

To the best of my knowledge, the perpetrators have been apprehended, and the circumstances surrounding the invasion or siege on the judge's residence are being investigated."

Usman said the police and other security agencies were working to ensure the safe rescue of the six people kidnapped in the early hours of the morning at the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA).

"We have information that bandits attacked the University of Abuja, abducting six people." "Police and other security agencies, including the military, are working to ensure that the victims are rescued safely," he said.

The IG also shot down reports that suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari had been recalled, claiming that he had promised adequate security during the upcoming governorship elections in Anambra State.
