Jachimike Victor Ikpeazu, son of Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and his wife, Nkechi, got married to his heartrob, former Miss Thelma Chidinma Onwueyi, at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.
President Muhammadu Buhari spoke at the wedding and congratulated the couple on their marriage. The President, speaking through Dr. Uche Ogah, Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, said that successful marriages are built on strong family values and character, and that when family values are properly enshrined, other activities in society, including peaceful coexistence, will be stable.
He urged them to pray and do things together, and wished them well in their relationship.
Also speaking, the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, represented by the wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs Rachael Umahi congratulated them on their union and assured them that marriage is blissful and an avenue to express love.
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the groom's father and Governor of Abia State, remarked earlier in his address that he was overwhelmed by the attendance of dignitaries and thanked them for coming.
He reminded the new couple that the large number of witnesses present should encourage them to make their marriage a success.
Mr Udom Emmanuel, the Chairman of the event and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, blessed the couple during the reception ceremony, saying that whatever their parents failed to achieve, they will.
Pastor Professor Bassey Udoh, President of the Eastern Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, preached about the importance of married couples.

Pastor Udoh used Ruth 1:16-17 as his text and highlighted several practical ways to display love, as exemplified by Ruth in the Bible, who demonstrated real love for her matrimonial house.
The pastor advised the lady not to compare her husband Jachimike to other men while asking for God to bless them and bring them fruitfulness and serenity.
