Jacob Joel, 42, has been remanded in the Jos Correctional Centre on suspicion of defiling an 11-year-old girl.
During police questioning, the accused blamed it on the devil, claiming that "the devil tempted him."
The defendant was remanded until a hearing on December 7, according to the judge, Justice S.P Gang.
According to the police, the victim, who is a friend of the defendant's daughter, was allegedly defiled by the defendant when she went to see her friend.
Earlier, the prosecutor, L.P Fombot, told the court that the minor went to the accused's house to see a friend but did not meet her there.
