Thiago Alcantara will miss Liverpool's next two games due to a calf injury.
Thiago was substituted in the second half of Saturday's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, and the club is awaiting the results of additional scans.
Thiago will miss the Carabao Cup tie against Norwich City and the subsequent league match against Brentford.
Pepijn Lijnders told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's also a shame because he was taking the game by the horns; in my opinion, he was a true playmaker".
"I don't know how long it will take, but it won't be tomorrow or this weekend," the assistant manager said.
