Students in Senior Secondary Schools one and two are no longer allowed to apply for and take the external West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
This was stated in a circular sent to federal unity school principals by the Federal Ministry of Education.
Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, the ministry's Director of Senior Secondary Education, signed the circular.
The circular was issued by the Ministry of Education to principals of federal unity schools.
The government threatened to expel any SSS One and Two student who took the exams.
The circular was confirmed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong, on Friday.
"Any student caught having written any of the above examinations in SS1 or SS2 classes will be expelled from the college," the principal of the college said.
