The Big Brother Angel, a Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, has spoken out about how she dealt with sexual assault and rape as a teenager.
The 21-year-old writer stated this on Monday, day 37 of the show, while discussing her experiences and future plans with the other housemates.
According to her, she was forced to deal with the issues alone because she was forbidden from speaking about her experiences.
"As a young adolescent, I dealt with sexual assault and rape on my own because it was expected of me to "shut up about it." Don't say anything about it. That should be considered a disgrace.
"I dealt with my boyfriend's death on my own,” Angel explained.
"And you know how life is, no matter how bad the situation you're in." Everyone else is moving, and you seem to be left behind.
"So, in terms of mental health, I'd like to educate more people, and I'm aware that I now have a larger platform. As a result, it will be easier to attract a large audience, which should be beneficial.
"I'm also starting a group for young females or young women; women in general, but especially young women," she continued.
