Former the president was arrested due to his involvement in the 'Barcagate' campaign scandal during his reign as the club’s president before resigning in 2020.

Bartomeu and his directors resigned in 2020 after his fallout with club Legend Lionel Messi.
Meanwhile, Bartomeu is not the only person to be arrest.
A total of four people have been arrested so far, which are; Barcelona’s CEO Oscar Grau and Barcelona head of legal services Roman Gomez Ponti, and two others.
The last person is, Jaume Masferrer who was an adviser to Bartomeu.
Earlier today, Spanish police entered Barcelona’s stadium in a shocking search operation.
