The Abia State Government lead by Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu directed all categories of Local Government workers in the 17 Local Government Areas of the State to resume work immediately.
The Government also directs all Tricycle operators (Keke) in the State to immediately register and validate their membership within 48 hours of this announcement.
In a Statement by BARR. CHRIS EZEM
Secretary to Abia State Government, noted that, Executive Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Councils are to ensure strict compliance to this Government directive.
EZEM added, "In order to keep track of legitimate keke operators in Abia State, Government by this notice directs all keke operators in the State to immediately register and validate their membership within 48 hours from this announcement.
"With either Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Abia State Chapter or Allied Tricycle Riders Integrated Welfare Association (ATRIWA) who are government accredited and organized keke transport groups in Abia State.
"Consequently, Government directs the Ministry of Transport and all security agencies to ensure strict compliance to this directive as defaulters will face the full weight of the law."
