AFCON 2019: Super Eagles of Nigeria qualifies despite losing 2-0 to Madagascar

It was a humiliating night for the Super Eagles on Sunday as they lost 2-0 to Madagascar, in their final Group B fixture at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Gernot Rohr men wins over Burundi and Guinea and lose to Madagascar despite qualifying to the next round. Although the coach made five changes to his starting line-up, the three-time champions were still expected to have too much for the debutantes.
Leon Balogun's silly mistake in the 13th minute gave Madagascar a shocking lead thanks to a strike by Lalaina Nomenjanahary.
The Eagles came out fighting in the second half, but Carolus Andriamahitsinoro made it 2-0 and all but ended the encounter as a contest.
Madagascar finish top with seven points, while Nigeria are runners-up with six points.
