Onyejiocha, who is currently serving her third term in the National Assembly, revealed that she would be seeking re-election in 2019 to enable her return to the green chamber for the fourth term to consolidate on the gains so far made by her.

According to her, the current PDP leadership in Abia has been rejected by her constituents, pointing out that her recent defection to the APC was in the best interest of the people of Isiukwato/Umunneochi constituency.

The federal lawmaker revealed it while addressing the Abia State leadership of the APC in Umuahia at the weekend.

“The mission to rescue Abia is not a one man mission. It is a collective responsibility, because of our children, because of these boys sitting aside. These are people they suppose to employ. These are people who suppose to be responsible and own houses and be responsible to their families.

“So, that singular job to remove these youths from the streets is critical. And there is no way will dance away those responsibilities. God will ask us.

“Few days ago, our speaker bought PDP form, so I heard. But, the truth of the matter is that politics is local. Maybe, that is what will be good for him in his own place. But for me in Abia State, APC is good for me”.

“For me in Isiukwato/Umunneochi federal constituency, APC is the place to go because, the current leadership in Abia State has been rejected by my people.

The APC chieftain claimed that the ruling PDP-led administration in Abia had subjected the people to untold hardship and, however, claiming that her new party, APC, will chase away PDP from the state in the upcoming 2019 election.
