Obi at Koinonia: Politicians and Poor Leadership Are Nigeria’s Main Problems

In a surprise appearance that quickly captured national attention, presidential candidate Peter Obi addressed the congregation at Koinonia Global, delivering a stark message about the state of the nation. 

Speaking on Sunday at the prominent worship center founded by Apostle Joshua Selman, Peter Obi at Koinonia boldly declared that corrupt politicians and poor leadership are squarely responsible for Nigeria’s ongoing challenges. 

The former Anambra State governor argued that there is nothing inherently wrong with the country itself, pointing out instead that the primary issue lies in the quality, character, and greed of the political class entrusted with managing the nation's vast resources.

Taking the podium after being recognized and invited up by Apostle Joshua Selman, Obi bypassed a traditional campaign speech and instead offered a sobering, straightforward assessment of Nigerian leadership. 

“We are the problem of the country. There’s nothing wrong with Nigeria,” Obi confessed to the packed auditorium. He passionately appealed to the worshippers to direct their prayers toward the nation's leaders, asking for divine intervention in governance. 

"Let God touch our hearts to use public money for public good. Let God touch us to stop stealing. That is why people are suffering here," he stated. 

As the video of Peter Obi at Koinonia began circulating online, his candid admission that politicians are the root cause of the nation's struggles resonated deeply with many frustrated citizens.

Drawing on his extensive international travels, Obi emphasized that the stark difference between Nigeria and thriving nations globally boils down to a single factor: leadership. 

He noted that if Nigeria's wealth were properly invested for the public good rather than squandered, it would significantly improve the lives of everyday citizens and resolve many of the country's pressing issues. 

Closing his brief but impactful address, Obi urged Nigerians to pray for all political leaders uniformly, rather than dividing their prayers along partisan lines. “Don’t say one is good, the other one is bad. 

All of us, remember all of us in your prayers, because the problem of the country can be solved,” he concluded. His message at the popular ministry continues to spark intense debate across social media regarding accountability and the future of Nigerian politics.
